Project details

What we need
  • Significant update to Organization’s existing CMS website, such as adding a new page, customizing a theme, adjusting layout, etc.
  • Smaller update to Organization's non-CMS website
Additional details

DRAWDOWNBayArea.org is a climate solutions NGO in the San Francisco Bay Area, aimed at the general public.

The ideal partner for this project is WIX savvy & has an intuitive grasp of "how to make the complex look easy". The TON of information needs to be easily navigable/searchable on the site, so a "keen eye" for organizing the wire frames is needed.

Our Earth Day launch event involves students & partners throughout the region. Our social media campaign will drive people to the website.

What we have in place
  • We currently have our website on WIX; we're keeping that platform for now, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have lots of info, visuals, slide decks, copy, etc., and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to to pay our student researchers! We're in "start-up" mode, unpaid, just starting to fundraise. We're in a 60 day sprint to launch publicly, w/ an event on Earth Day.

The website is the "hub" for our work, a resource center & "connector."

The design of the site is essential to successfully reaching multiple audiences & keeping them engaged.

The question we keep at the forefront is how the "average person" will interact with the site. The information on climate solutions is overwhelming. We have to have enough information and links without making the site too complex, but have enough info to be useful & have repeat visitors.

Our mission

Act Now Bay Area promotes and supports the implementation of regional solutions to the global climate challenge.

Act Now Bay Area connects Business, Community, and Government in the nine Bay Area counties to existing climate solutions, best practices, and policy frameworks to dramatically reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and achieve ambitious 2030 climate goals in transportation, energy, and building sectors.

We see a future where concerted citizen action, strategic business leadership, and proactive government engagement have achieved the essential 2030 climate goals that will help reverse global warming and that, collaboratively, the San Francisco Bay Area has made a world of difference for future generations.

What we do

Act Now Bay Area is leading the Regional 2030 Climate Challenge.

Act Now Bay Area is the "one-stop-shop" that helps answer everyone's question: "I'm just one person - what can I possibly do that will make a difference? I don't even know where to start!"

Climate disruption impacts all aspects of our society - health, disadvantaged communities, the economy - the list is long. This is the last decade to implement solutions that can slow global warming - but those solutions need to be implemented at speed and scale, and we believe that everyone has a part to play.
