Project details

What we need
  • 3-5 one hour calls with an events professional covering topics like concept, general structure, logistics, and target attendees
  • A written summary of topics discussed, including event concept and theme, general plan, estimated budget (optional), and articulated goals (feel free to use this template as a starting point)
  • Note: This project does not include on-site event coordination or support on the day of the event
Additional details

We are conducting our first ever fundraiser walkathon in October 2021 that will take the place of our traditional annual event. We have several ideas in mind as this will also be to celebrate the 60th birthday of our co-founder. We could use help with organizing our thoughts and developing an actual game plan.

What we have in place
  • Our website (https://www.faithfulfools.org/), especially our newsletter/magazine archives has a lot of info on who we are and materials that we can pull from in planning for the event. We can also provide our goals and elements we'd like to incorporate, as well as provide context on our past major events. This will be completely different from what we've done before so we have a blank slate. We can also provide other things that may be needed that will facilitate successful planning.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to support more Tenderloin residents with basic needs and provide trauma therapy sessions to those experiencing social isolation. This will also support community organizing & education in Nicaragua.

We had to cancel our major fundraising events in the last two spring seasons due to the pandemic. This was not only a major source of revenue but a very special gathering time for the community.

We're developing a new approach to fundraise that still captures the essence of Faithful Fools, while also honoring the Co-Founder's 60th birthday. It's important for us to raise funds to support our work, but also to reconnect meaningfully and safely with our community.

Our mission

Faithful Fools are a live-work community that foster awareness and analysis of social conditions in the U.S. and the world at large, seen from the level of the streets, and facilitate individual and collective responses. Reflection and action are integrated in our advocacy, education, accompaniment, and arts programs.

What we do

We are called to a life of presence that acknowledges each human's incredible worth.

Aware of our judgments, we seek to meet people where they are through the arts, education, advocacy, and accompaniment.

We participate in shattering myths about those living in poverty, seeing the light, courage, intelligence, strength, and creativity of the people we encounter.

We discover on the streets our common humanity through which celebration, community, and healing occur.

Testimonials

Claire was terrific in helping us with our first ever peer-to-peer fundraiser. She was critical to conducting research needed on a tool to use and strategize various aspects of our communications strategy. Her dependability, insights and positive energy were very valuable to our process and a big part of a successful campaign.
